Do about 6 and see how they do...If you have a 'Flash Freeze' setting try it...but keep an eye on them.

OK, just degorged 4 of them and took a shower on the 2nd 1 and even
managed to get some in my wifes mouth who was standing 4 1/2' away, she
likes it!

I seemed to have lost 2 bottles somehow though. 1 must have leeked
slowly over time and the other emptied between yesterday and today as I
moved the boxes last night to plug in the freezer. Oh well, all others
seem to be fine and the process is going. I have another 4 in the
freezer now and the 1st batch took 2 hours and 45 min. to get the neck
to freeze. This is fun except for the waiting.

My freezers are pretty full, I keep them at about -5*F...the bottle necks freeze in about 1 1/2 hours...the more you peek the more cold air you loose......the more bottles in there the more you lower the temperature.

I suppose if all you have in the freezer is those bottles you have to compensate.

The last batch we had a bottle that was only half full at time of dégorging...I think the plastic top was split for the wine to slowly leak out. I never saw any wine on the floor, but the paper in there had been wet.

As you do more dégorging you will become less messy....Jim wears glasses to protect his eyes are the wine will burn them...and he does it outside...our house is usually spattered with lees.

We think it it worth the mess.

Have you tasted any????

Hope you enjoy the wine and start another batch right away.

Yeah, the waiting is the worst part! It ties up your day!

It's funny, with some bottles I didn't lose any and others I got soaked!

The 1st 1 went perfect and so did the 3rd and 4th, but that 2nd 1
sprayed the both of us and I was doing it outside. 1 of those bottles
that I said dissapeared was actually about 1/2 full but Im not chancing
it with a possible spoiled batch so dumped it.

2nd batch is almost ready, anyone need a shower?

Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention that I am handicapped today as I
took a good chunk out of my index finger today with the magazine of a
pneumatic staple gun. I was in a hurry as glue was drying on a $13,000
custom handrail that I was gluing up and neede to staple it off at the
top and bottom to hold it still so that I could apply the 200 hand
claps and as I opened it to load it up it got stuck so I yanked it and
it opened really fast and caught a 3/4" square chunk by about 1/4" deep
and I said

And then you grabbed a paper towel and some electrical tape out of your toolbeltfor ahomemade band-aidand went right back to your glue up project. Been there, done that 100 times and I have the scars on my hands to prove it.

I hope you're up to date on your tetnis shots.

Tried to get a pic of it actually popping but couldnt get the timing
down. But if you look at the 2nd pic you can see the a little bit of
the ice plug dripping out of the cork and my hand being a little wet.
Going smoothly now. 8 done and more to go tomorrow.
