Anyone not familiar with this, I want to give my Kudos to this service.

www.skype.com

This is basically a free communication service(phone/video phone) anyone can use as long as both parties have internet access.

It works best with at least DSL or cable internet. I have been familiar with this for quite some time. I believe there are oher services similar to this but Skype is 100% free.

I had never used this until Leanne encouraged me to install it.

I used to call direct to the UK. Because she only has a cell/mobile, it was like 50 cents a minute. Since we are using this we can talk without interuption or buffering for free.

If you have a fast enough internet it can be used as a video phone. Just for audio, all you need is a headst like from your video game, or a set of speakers, most computers have these built in, and a microphone.

We domt use the video option, but the audio works excellent.

Anyone who may have a friend or relative in a foreign land needs to look at this. Those of you with loved ones in the military probably already know about this Skype.

I give it my recommendation for sure.

It works great, easy to use and sure beats a 50 dollar phone calls.

If you are interested, please visit the above link for more info.

I hope that even if one person in here benefits from Skype, that it was worth my while to suggest it to you.

Leanne or I would be happy to answer any questions you may have about Skype. As for me, I am sold, and it has and never will cost me a dime..

And...it works great.

I'll vouch for that. We talk for hours on skype. It certainly crosses the pond ok.

In a few more days Leanne and I will be together and I only hope any one else that far away from their loved ones realizes there is a free way to be close. especially our military men and women, on either side of the "pond"!!

I've used skype to talk to my son in Afghanistan and I know he uses it all the time to talk to his girl friend. My only problem with it is catching him actually on line with an 8 1/2 hour time difference.

My friends son is overseas and yea, I think he calls home @ 3am but well worth it.

I use it to see my grandson and great grand daughter. I agree it is very good and easy to use. But, I remember seeing a pic of Leanne, why in heavens name would you not use the video portion? :b

I dont have the RAM or a fast enough internet speed. I have a new wireless high speed, but its just not fast enough, the audio part works excellent though.

She will be here soon enough.

I am glad to see others use and enjoy this program, it really is pretty nifty.
