Hi All,
Is it common to see an increase in SG durning the secondary fermentaion?
When I racked it from Primary, the SG was .998.
Racked to carboy, then I added a homemade Blackberry/Buleberry FPACK. SG went to 1.020
10 days later the SG is now 1.030.
I know it should read lower than 1.00 before I add all the chems.
Still tastes great and I'm just going to sit it back for another week and check it this weekend.

Well it's steadily kicking out a bunch of little bubbles, however I drew a sample and checked the SG in the tube.
I'll check it again in a few days

I'm with Sal. How big was your fpack?

Also, before testing your SG next time (if you're not already doing it), give your wine a good stir.

At 1.030, are you seeing any signs of fermentation (downward movement of your SG over a couple days)? If not, I might be inclined to put the wine back in the primary and hit it with an EC1118 to bring it home. If you are seeing fermentation, and you leave it in a secondary vessel, be patient. You're ferment may be a slow go (limited exposure to O2 in a carboy).

Personally, I'd probably go back to primary regardless...
