wine is in carboy
7 days ago it was 1.100 SG
Now it is 2 tick marks shy of the 90 above the 1.100
I can still smell yeast and co2
Wife says it doesn’t taste the wine and said she couldn’t detect any alcohol

So the reading is now 1.090? If that's the case then you've still a ways to go before you've fermented to dry.

At about SG 1.020 - 1.000 rack to a clean and sanitized carboy and lock it down. A week or two from then your wife will detect the alcohol.

Good luck!

Thanks for your reply
I didn’t know you add the 1 in front to get 1.090
I was looking at it as 90
The hydrometer also has markings for beer at the top
The hydrometer reading is above the 1.100 mark
I don’t see where the 1.000 is
The hydrometer was higher in the liquid than a week ago
Maybe i have a cheap hydrometer
It starts at dessert wine
Then wine
Then beer
Table wine markings are in a yellow band
Dessert wine in red
So it goes 1.100
Then 10 ticks to the 90
Then next number is 80
Maybe I’m looking at it wrong
I don’t know how to post pictures

This is my hydrometer

This is my hydrometer

It's hard to tell for sure with your photo cropped/zoomed in too much to see the whole thing, but I'm guessing this is what you've got so far:hydrometer1.png

So if you started in the red there at that 10, that means you started at 1.110 SG. Now you're down to 1.090.
So far wine is only around 2.7% alcohol. It will go all the way down to the 1.00 I drew at the very top eventually, or even past that a bit to be around 0.992 - 0.998

When it gets there, you'll have a 15% wine. This is assuming the yeast you used can get that high. Some yeasts top out more around 14%.
Whatever it is, it's fermenting slowly.

No it started further up
The hydrometer was turned a bit
Just below the red at the 1.100 mark

Ok I got it now
I was reading it from the bottom
Lol
Makes sense now
As the sugar decreases alcohol increases and hydrometer sinks because the liquid is not quite as dense because sugar is being depleted
Thanks a lot
Very good teacher

Ahhh great video
Clear as a bell now
The wine actually has pretty good color and is clear

You got it!

Checked the red wine it’s still 1.100
I can smell co2 and a bit of yeast but I don’t see any bubbles in the red or white
Maybe the yeast died it’s already been 2.5 weeks since i started it
I

That is a long time with no change.
I'd suggest you get another yeast packet, mix some water with some orange juice, and a few tablespoons of your wine/juice, warm it up until just luke warm, then sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. You should see the yeast start to foam up.
Pour into your wine.
