I’ve made two batches of wine using two different kits without a hitch. This morning I opened a 6 gallon bucket of fresh juice purchased yesterday. I could smell it fermenting already and actually see the top moving.
I go to pitch bm4x4 and begin to give it a swirl. Within seconds, pink foam started rising to the top like a volcano. Despite my yelling “no, no, stop, stop it continued to rise and pour over the top. So after a good laugh and kicking myself profusely I began to wonder if I lost too much of my dry yeast for a good fermentation. I could see particles on the side of the bucket and on the table. Should I be concerned?
