I've never been one to cold store my yeast or MLB. But last year, I had trouble getting my VP41 to work and ended up pitching CH16 later to finish out. My yeast and MLB arrived yesterday. I'm wondering if I should refrigerate the MLB until I'm ready to use it - it'll probably be 60-90 days.

I keep my yeast in my wine fridge.

I buy bread yeast in a 2 pound package at BJ's. It has remained viable in my freezer for over two years and still rises perfectly whenever I need it for a loaf of bread. I've been buying my bread yeast like this for well over 10 years.

As long as you keep yeast cold, it remains dormant and viable.

Thanks all. I'll give that a try. MLB is expensive stuff. Don't want to take more chances than I need to. I never chilled in the past, but I think I was ordering closer to use than I do now.

Yeast, MLB, foods all stay in the fridge together, if nothing else I know where they are:b
