Red Cedar Posts

Have any of you actually cut and installed and have long term experience with Red Cedar posts, using them as trellis line posts?

I have white cedar in my vineyard, which I believe have similar properties as the red

How long has it been in use? I found a chart on different trees being use as posts. Red cedar was 15-20 years

I pretty optimistic about them so far. It has only been 4 yrs and they still look way better then my few treated posts that have been in for the same time. I got them for the cost/value of them. I got them for $6 a piece so I can’t complain either way

I dozed a couple of hundred into a pile a couple of years ago. I'll cut several out of this pile and cut some green ones... I figured free + the possibility of 15 years adds up to worth a shot?

Well didn't get any cut....pile is still where it was....

I stumbled on some cheap pipe and went thay route instead.
