Recooping a barrel

Most if not all of my barrels have a slight separation on the exterior of the staves but none of them leak. I'm thinking it might be harder to be exact with the bevel of the staves on a smaller diameter barrel.

I don't know if I'm more impressed with the whole process, or simply the fact that you did the toast inside.

I took a video of the toasting and can see it on my phone but can't figure out how to send it to my email to save and post.

Watched a pro at a community college wine class recondition a bunch of barrels. Used a dull brick chisel to remove the bands. Removed the head and put a propane burner in the bottom to retoast.

Fred you are the MAN. Impressed beyond belief!! I actually might do the same at some time, but may go for a barrel char for Bourbon.
