question on old Mexican sun disk

several years back i bought a Mexican brass sun disk, the fellow i bought it from, did not know much about it,
his grandparents brought it to the USA in 1944, when they passed,, it was then passed down to his parents,
when his parents passed,, it went to the man i bought it from, he said it had always creeped him out, and he was finally able to get red of it,
any one have any knowledge of mildly older sun disc??

I am guessing its just a brass version of the Aztec Sun Stone (or calendar)
