what kind of barrel would you recommend for a fruit - driven Primitivo (Zinfandel)?

Light-Medium Toasted?

Country Origin?

Have you ever used any Vicard?

I have a 2016 Lanza Primitivo that I’d like to oak, as well.
Does anyone have any recommendations running primitivo through a barrel?

I've done a few Lanza Zins and they have all spent time in a neutral barrel. I then give them the oak treatment with ~3oz of oak cubes - French, medium toast.

Yeah French Oak or Hungarian oak are the best, and would be traditional for the style of wine.
