Hey I searched and didn't see it anywhere so here goes.
You can usea pressure canner to sterilize gallon carboys, as they will fit perfectly in one at an angle if you only got a couple it's really good and easy to use. You just let it get to pressure for at least 10 minutes and then cool it off and your carboy is sterile, ( cheaper than getting them fixed and guaranteed to keep gallon carboys population down to a minimum) :).
Anyway just thought I'd throw it out for anyone who may not know.

sterilize for what purpose?

unless you're banking yeast cultures, we don't need 'sterile'...just 'sanitary'.

right you want to Sanitize not sterilize.

It's easier to spray some meta on there than go through that process.

well just saying you know in case someone wanted to know

suppose that it would work for beer bottles! I just got a bunch of used bottles and this may be a simple way make sure they are clean of who knows whats on them..

I'm not a fan of repeated heat sanitizing/sterilizing because it exposes the natural imperfections in the glass, which leads to cracks and failures in the bottle.
