View attachment 99758 We watch foreign series on BBC4 UK on Saturday evenings, (usually crime ones, which are often brilliant). They are often from Scandinavia, (Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark), with subtitles. When they speak to foreigners, no matter where they come from, they always speak English. OK by me, but seems strange.

Here's a funny thing though. We were watching Inspector Montalbano, an Italian series with subtitles. My CEO (Wife) picked up the remote and turned up the sound.
'Why are you doing that?' I asked.
'The volume is too low,' she replied.
'They're speaking Italian, you twit,' I said.
