Looking at the chapter in The New Cider Makers Handbook, one direction cider folks go is a small 2mm tooth that eats away on a 2 to 3 inch object, ,,, versus working a 10 to 20mm size grape. A guess is that the bite can be compatible but shape of the hopper or adjustment of roller would be the issue.

the problem s to be effective apple need to be crushed to a pomace consistence which if used on grapes would end up a puree if lucky . the answer is they are not compatible.

Today was harvesting crab apples. The berry size for this variety is about 5/8 inch and I am again scratching my head on an efficient way to crush 5 gallon pails of grape sized apple.
IDEAS anyone?

@salcoco I would hope that a 1/8 inch stainless lip on a wheel would be able to make a quarter inch flake of apple. And the center pulpy material in grape is fluid enough that it would basically flow through a thin gap after cracking the skin.
