Has anyone ever used one of these for racking/degassing/filtering? I am pretty happy with my AIOP, but I just saw one for sale for $60.00 fully set up with all the tubing necessary and thought it would either make a great backup or a gift for one of my winemaking buddies... I was wondering if anyone had experience with this type of pump (benefits/issuesd)? Thank you!

Peristaltic pumps are great for moving liquids without any problems or concerns with contamination as nothing touches any internal components so you can move high pH or low pH stuff around without concern. That said I don't believe it can be used to degas as it doesn't make much pressure/vacuum. Good for racking though.

I agree with Mike
I think it would also take a long time to rack also -

Try it and let us know -
