I live in Pa wine country (just north of Allentown). The wine around here was "meh" for alot of years but some local wineries their 2006 vintage is the best I've tasted anywhere. They are really coming into their own.

As soon as I read the title, I thought it’s all opinion until they get rated by Parker, Wine Spectator or do well at SF Chronicle or CA State Fair. I’m sure there are others, but these are the ones that have credibility in my mind.

Double gold at SF Chronicle is quite an achievement. Most years I’ll take the SF Chron results PDF and put it into excel and see how the scoring was and how my local wineries did. As you can see in 2019, a double gold would put a wine in the top 10% of wines that received an award.
