That title should be xxx Corks for Wine Bottling to Outer Space...let me try and figure out how to fix that.
I came across a 13-minute video highlighting the Corticeira Amorim company and how they process wine corks. It is not a technical video, but a good overview of the process of harvesting cork, processing cork, and usage statistics. I thought it to be interesting, so thought I would share. From peeling of the outer bark of the Quercus Suber tree, its bark pressing and 'coring', and yes, it touches on the TCA issue (slightly) which the industry went through a number of years ago.
