Shape shouldnt matter as long as there is no cracks where bacteria can hide in there.
 
I looks like it would curve right to th side wall. Now just tip the carboy to the other side and leave the mess behind.
Like Wade said as long it has no deep scratches your OK.
 
On the other hand, you could use it for an excuse to get yourself an auto siphon. (Well worth the money IMHO) :h
 
Yup, nothing wrong with that. Y'all reminded me I need to get a new Auto Siphon. I broke mine a couple weeks ago when the hose stuck on it.

The Autosiphon is a great tool, but what Smurfe describes here has already happened twice to me.

In my case it was because the hose tightened to much around the cane. You can prevent that by heating the hose. The plastic will get weak and more easy to remove.
