Posting in General Chit-Chat since this is mostly a mind bending philosophical question that just happens to include a vineyard. :h

So here is the shtick. Last year the following happened:

First frost:

Then hail:

Then endless rain and plenty of fungus:

Lost 70% of the grapes.

This year has been pretty good so far.

So I am getting nervous. Murphy's Law may need to be served to restore balance to the universe. What pestilence should I expect still awaits me? :?

After struggling to grow grapes for five years and enduring killing frosts and spray drift, we had a perfect winter and spring. And now we have drought. These grapes should make outstanding wine because they certainly have suffered.

Yours looks great. Best of luck to you.

I was looking at my 5 backyard vines the other day and thought that growing grapes is not for the faint of heart. So many things go wrong, so many diseases and pests attack them.

Best of luck! (Your volcanoes have not been active since the Pliocene! Relax!)
