Mold on Prosecco Corks

Hello,
I am new to this so please forgive me if this post is in the wrong place. I wanted to know if it is possible for mold to grow in or outside of a bottle of prosecco?

Mold can grow on the outside of the cork -- I've had that happen. I wash the bottle before opening to remove the mold. The wine is fine.

If mold is growing inside the cork (visible through the glass), or inside the bottle? That is bad. I'd be cautious about drinking the wine.
