Just bought this as it seems to be recommended on this site quite a bit. I noticed that the electrode cover is very difficult to remove and after using added some 4.01 buffer solution (don’t yet have storage solution) to the protective cover and tried to put it back on but it doesn’t want to go on and I’m afraid it’s going to break if I force it.

How are you guys storing your meters?

Maybe obvious and doesn’t need to be said but,
you need to loosen the blue ring to loosen the grip it has on the probe.
Once you’ve got the probe back in (goes in easily),
you tighten it to keep it from leaking.

It’s a great cap.
Keeps the probe wet and uses very little solution.

Thanks I hadn’t noticed that it could be loosened and the instructions didn’t say anything about it. Can you describe how to loosen it?

Thanks!

Place the probe cable up, so it stands on the cap.
Hold the cap like a bottle.
Spin the blue ring as if it was the bottle cap; lefty loosely, righty tighty.

Thank you! This wasn’t obvious to me and the instructions don’t say anything about this so I would probably have ended up breaking it without this tip!
