Newbie here.... My supermarket has just brought m
e 2 lemons that I ordered for carrot wine making. Looking at them I am wondering if these are waxed. Am I able to wash them thus making them OK for wine please?

A simple google search shows if they are in fact waxed, 1) it's done from the producer side and 2) it's fairly simple to remove with warm to hot water and dish soap with a final warm water rinse. As you only have two lemons to work with I certainly don't see an issue with cleaning them via this method and then using them. Or look to an organic food supplier for unwaxed variants?

I dont see any issue with the wax. Eventually the alcohol will desolve it and there is such a small amount i doubt it will have any effect at all.
