I have started to make my new batch of wine. Before primary fermentation my specific gravity is showing 1.1.. Is it ok? What should i do if this is not ok?
 
Can you verify that you are measuring the hydrometer, correctly, and please report what exactly the hydrometer is reading? Consult this video if confused:

Can you verify the reading of 1.18 after watching the video? If so, it’s too high for winemaking, 1.10 would be much more in line. If you still need help, please give more details, volume of must, type of wine you’re making, ingredients, would be helpful in addition to a confirmed SG reading.
