I hope to get out and do my first round of dormant pruning today. I got new pruners and I feel I have a solid plan this time(thanks for the help with that). It will take me a week or two to get finished because of limited daylight.
also I ordered and received my smucker red weeder. I found a good deal and could not wait. I know this will make things much easier in the vineyard, orchard, and garden.

First row complete (30 vines) and second row started. Has not made it above 19 degrees and the snow keeps coming. I am actually enjoying it, but I have not been out there for more than an hour at a time.

Are you pruning to your final bud count now, or is this just a first pass?

half way done with one row. Been nice and snowy, cold, and wet.

FWIIW, and as a general comment: Wet conditions are the worst time to be pruning if your area and varietals suffer from canker infections (and most areas do to some extent, hybrids less than vinifera):

I appreciate the info. The only time it is not wet around here is when it is summer, which is a bit late for dormant pruning. Hopefully the vidal blanc will be ok.
