I got a new ph tester, the Milwaukee ph56 for Xmas:h, I'm not ready to have to test anything as yet, but I'm wondering if it's ok to just soak the meter in the solution for the 2-4 hours and leave it in storage solution without calibrating. Or should I condition it first, calibrate, then place in storage solution. Where the probe is supposed to be kept wet at all times, but shipped dry, I'm hoping the time it's been wrapped up will be ok. Hope everyone had a great Christmas!!

When they are new, I like to condition the probe as you say. Afterwards put it in the storage solution. I would wait to calibrate it until after it has been conditioned.

I agree, I have the same Milwaukee PH meter, I conditioned it first and waited until I needed it to calibrate it.
