Can anyone please advise me. I am a new-to-winemaking amateur and have followed the recipe exactly but when I transferred it to the demijohn - nothing happened. I checked for leakage from the airlock and kept the temperature a steady 24. After a week of no action I decided to put in some wine yeast & nutrient activate with warm water and suger, but as I removed some wine (?) from the demijohn to add the yeast mix, I thought it looked really good so sampled a glass and it really is quite clear and taste like a good dry red wine. Not sure what to do now, is that it? do I just skip the 'bubble' bit and bottle? (also, whats the longer thermometer thing with funny numbers and a bulge at the bottom painted red, it came with the job lot but no instructions). Thanks in anticipation of a reply. Camelia.
