Hi, my name is Barry Witmer, from Wonewoc, WI. I am trying my hand at making wine. I currently hava a gallon of cherry going and also some from grape juice. I have not bottled any yet, but am anxious to. Any advice would be helpful. I have visited two wine supply stores one 45 miles from home and one 85 miles from home. The staff in both stores were very helpful. I am looking forward to this interesing website!!

Hi, Barry,

A word of advice from another novice. If you plan on corking your wine bottles, get, borrow or rent a floor model corker. One of those hand corkers was nearly my undoing, and it is now in a pile for the spring garage sale, where it waits for its next victim :)

Abby,

Thanks for the advice. I am planning to cork, so I will purchase a floor model.

Welcome Barry and Abby,

The best three advises I can give you are:

- Buy more carboys, you never have enough :)
- Experiment a lot with different wines
- Patience is the hardest but best advise.

Luc

I agree about the carboys. I have two... i am eyeing #3 and I only started last October.
