Good idea on the bags!!

Re the Tyvec, at my old house we had lemon and orange trees. We had frost 10-15 nights a year so I rigged up a wire that went above the trees and draped a frost cloth over the wire like a tent. Clothes pins kept the cloth in place and kept the ends closed. I also used rocks along the edges to keep it from resting on the branches. A drop light with an old school incandescent light raised the temperature just a little more.

Frost cloth is a plastic material that looks somewhat foamy - like it had air whipped into it. It supposedly raises the temperature 5 degrees over using nothing. With the light, it was more like 10 degrees warmer under the tent. It’s available from Amazon and better garden supply houses. I used large square pieces something like 30x30 but it is also available in a roll form. It was very durable - lasted ten plus years before we sold the house.

This isn’t a great price but illustrates what I mean.

Thanks for the links. Very pricey but it confirms my thoughts about frost protection. I’m kinda cheap so I’m sure at some point I’ll get a 100’x20 ‘ roll of woven polyethylene and give it a try. I bought some for work a while back and they were like $125.00 a roll.
