Forced give name & e-mail

At home when I try to get on this site a window pops up and asks me for my name and e-mail so they can send me e-mails about sales and promotions, does not happen at work, unless I give the info I cannot get onto WMT. Is it my computer problem at home? The request is from a brew supply house, don't have the name but can supply tomorrow. Anybody else experiencing this?

I get it at work but not at home. In the upper right hand corner of that pop up is a close button you can click on so it goes away. The button is hard to see, I think the font is in white.

I would think the trouble this causes for many users that it would be eliminated. There must be a better way to ask people if they want to subscribe.
