No longer a newbie, but still clueless.
Welcome, Patsy.
Search the 'tweaking cheap kits' or 'thinking outside the box' threads. All sorts of info on how to make slight mods to these in order to make them a lot better.
Have done the Wildberry Shiraz....it was wildly berry even with only half the Fpack...even so, folks would say this is too sweet as they drained the bottle...it went fast.
We love the Malbec done using Joe's Tweaks....have another one on the shelf, it will be made next. Cheapest kit, best wine I've made so far...again, tweeted beyond recognition, but still a very good early drinker. Everybody likes this one.
Frankly, I started with them because of the price point...they are cheap...if you mess it up you aren't hurt too bad. But they make a nice simple wine.
