I haven't added the yeast yet, I just mixed the sugar and chems with the strawberries last night.

How do I lower the SG before I put the yeast in? Just add some water? Take out some syrup and add water?

Anyways, WineCalc won't install on my windows 7 machine so I had to just follow the recipe and it looks like the recipe may have used imperial gallons as opposed to US gallons.

Thanks for your help, I don't think I'm dead yet, since the yeast isn't in and I think the liquid may still be too cool for the yeast to breed in, it feels cold, but I haven't temped it yet.

I dont think the sugar is fully dissolved. You started with 10# of sugar in 22# of strawberry. That reading is false. Stir it around more and take another reading

Im guessing you pmed Tom on this or he would probably woukld have asked for the recipe and what size batch this is.
