So, I open up my fermentation bucket recently, and it has a funky odor. I guess I would describe it as tangy? Right now, I’ve put some Straight-A in there and I’m letting it sit for a bit. In the photo you can see what looks like an orange stain in the top “corner” of the bottom. I always wash it and sanitize it when I’m done. I don’t leave it sealed, the lid is set loosely on top. The last thing made in it was a batch of dragon’s blood. 2 of them actually. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I keep using it? Any ideas how to get rid of the odor?

It’s a really good thing that I’m a procrastinator!
So I’ll add a scoop of scent free oxyclean to the bucket and fill with hot water. Let it sit for an hour or two and wipe the inside with a sponge and rinse well 3 or 4 times. Then sanitize before use goes without saying.

Thanks everyone, here I go!
