Epiration dates on wine/beer making chemicals and additives?

Wade just recently commented in another thread about the expiration date on sorbate.

I was wondering about other things as well. I just got 40 pounds of NaMeta and was wondering if that can go "bad"

Outside of keeping these things dry, are there any other proper ways to store these "bulk" chemicals?

What are some of the other additives/chemicals we use that have an expiration date?

Oh yes the old SMELL test!

I had a container of shrimp boil on the shelf. So a little while ago the Pollack in me said to give it the smell test to check its freshness. Been sneezing for about 10 hours, so the accuracy of this kind of test is debateable!!! LOL
