Hi. I'm about 5 days into the 3rd step of this kit. The wine is clearing well, has properly fermented and smells good. However, the surface of the carboy has some white patches that I don't recall seeing in prior kits I've made. It doesn't cover the entire surface of the wine and appears to be small flecks of material (remnants of the metabisulphite and/or sorbate?) that has not dropped to the bottom of the carboy.
Should I not worry and just try to avoid these spots when I rack the wine again in a few days? Any thoughts or suggestions?
