I noticed a section in my one wine making book regarding the use of DRIED berries (elderberries, hawthorn, etc) I was wondering if there was anyone that has tried this method and what they think of it.

I haven't used dried berries..

but have used dried fruit for wine..I wouldn't make the dried apricot/ peach one again.. it was trouble to clear and finished with an odd flavour..

Same here, I always try to use fresh or at least canned fruit.

I am finishing a story on a wine I made using dried apricots and
that also had an odd flavor.
Maybe it is just the apricots and not the peach.
I will not be doing this again though.

I am with you Allie.
