Do I need to add sorbate again

I love this forum, and appreciate everyone's feedback. Here's my question. I made a batch a berry wine in 2020. I added sorbate when I back sweetened and all was good. Two years later, I'm not happy with the sweetness and today pooled the remaining bottles and and added more simple syrup to sweeten more ( 4%). I didn't even think about whether I needed to add sorbate again or not. Should I be OK or am I headed toward exploding bottles?

should be ok. If you are worried add a bit more sorbate

Nope. Do not add more sorbate.

Excess sorbate will produce off flavors. If the wine is more than 9 months old, the yeast is dead, so it will not spark a new ferment, so adding any sorbate is pointless.
