Has anyone used the silicone vented carboy bungs,and are they safe for buck agings.

Yes and yes! Love the vented silicon bungs. I recently stopped using bubbler airlocks altogether. I use em for long term bulk aging on all sized vessels—small jugs, carboys, demijohns and barrels.

Yes, I use them after I am sure the wine is finished fermenting. I usually put them in after the first 3 month racking.

I've used them for several years for bulk aging and haven't had any issues. It's nice knowing that they won't blow off with temperature or pressure changes. There's vacuum when I pull them off for racking which I take that as a sign that they are working well.

Definitely a resounding YES! I have them on all my bulk aging carboys......love them.....no need to check the airlock!...........................................Dizzy

Looks like I need some burping bungs. That’s what my local winery calls them.
