Cab/Merlot/Syrah blend?

I'll be making a small batch and I had my mind set on only Merlot and Cabernet Sauv (66% Merlot and 34% Cab).

Then since I never made Syrah I thought why not make a blend of 33% each.

Does that sound like a good blend?

I hope Syrah is not as dark as Petite Syrah, if it is then I'm sticking to Merlot and Cab blend only, which is a blend I like very much.

Thoughts?

It is not as dark or brooding as Petite Sirah.

Cab/Syrah/Merlot isn't uncommon. Look around at your wine shop and get some sample percentages to get a starting point.
