I just purchased an 80g pack of GRE yeast. I will be using it on 2 different batches now. How long will the remainder of the yeast be good if I vacuum seal it?
 
Ok thanks. I was hoping I could keep it until I get my fall juice buckets.
 
You can "proof" the yeast before you use it in the fall. basically, mix up a starter batch before your pitch it. If you don't see any activity with the starter, then get new yeast.

Maybe test some of it two weeks before you get the buckets so you can have time to get new yeast before the juice arrives.
 
I would think the bigger problem is not that the yeast will be less active but that it will become infected with bacteria and that the bacteria may create flavors in the next batch that you would much prefer not to taste
