That's a lot of head space if the true amount of space is not understood.

At the same time, a couple of my old 5 gallon carboys hold 5.25 gallons / 20 liters, not 19. As long as I know this and plan for it, I'm ok.

Well it does ...and the 30L holds bit over 9gals...

This is great to know because I just ordered the 30L Speidel yesterday for fermenting a FWK in and then preforming a EM in.

so something labeled 20 Liters (which is right at 5.3 gallons) holds over 6 gallons?? something seems not quite right.
