Brew kettle for primary?

I've got an 8 gallon SS brew kettle for beer. Is there any reason why I shouldn't use it as a primary fermentation vessel?

I use a 10 gallon when i'm short on buckets, just have to get it into a carboy or air light container with air lock before it completely finishes so it wont oxidize

be fine, put something over it so stuff don't tend to drift/fly into it, a beach towel or anything to let it breath, and like crooked cork said keep an eye on your hydrometer so when your ferment ,starts to end transfer into a carboy and an airlock it,

Worked out great.
I followed the advice given above.
My kettle lid fits loose and has a tiny vent hole, so that’s what I covered it with.
