brand new bottles

when you buy brand new bottles...do you still clean and sanitize them?

I don't buy new bottles but if I did, I would clean and sanitize them before filling. Not worth the risk not to do so.

Hopefully they are pretty clean. I usually rinse with water and then sanitizer before bottling. No need for soaking or other cleaners. I HAVE used them right out of the box before with no ill effects (the wine was properly sulfited) but it's always best to sanitize first.

I prefer to rinse new bottles well (dust removal at minimum), and I sanitize EVERYTHING that might come in contact with my wine.

I would just hit with a quick meta rinse to eliminate cardboard dust. Wineries just use nitrogen to blast it out.

I have a one of those Kmeta jet sanitizers thingys. Push the bottle down about three times and hang on bottle dryer. Ready to use. I would have to say that thing saves me more time then anything I have splurged on

Yes, I clean and sanitize before use. I don't however go crazy over the process.
