So, I bought a pH meter.

It's a nice little thing and I got storage & calibration solutions for it.

So, how do I interpret the results? If I get a ph of X, how can I use that number?

Your wine should fall in the 3.0 -3.5 range. If its over or under we try to adjust it to get it in there by adding acid or by trying to remove acid in some way. The ph of wine is 1 of the most important things as if its not in that range it is much more susceptible to microbes. Also, knowing the ph is how you know how much sulfite to add.

WE have quite a few videos and written up posts under our "Tutorials" section.

I bought a Hanna HI 98127.

Any tips for care and feeding of this little toy?

Just make sure you clean it good with the solution after use and make sure you keep it stored wet!! Check it every month!

Rinse well and I blow it off then place the cap on filled with 4.01 solution. Store it in a cool place upright. As Wade said check monthly to ensure it stays moist.

There are a few tutorials I did. After reading them let us know if you have any other questions.

Store the extra solutions in glass baby jars.

Congrats on the new purchase.
