Interesting. How large is your argon tank, and how much does it cost to refill?
Raptor: My cylinder is 80cf. Had it refilled about 6 months ago and I honestly don't remember how much it cost. I do know that if it had been outrageous I would remember. Biggest cost anymore is just buying a cylinder, picked this one up off of CraigsList. 80cf lasts me 2 or 3 years.

Two things I do.

1 is make it so I can quit at any time. Takes the big production out of it. If I only want to clean/sanitize bottles I quit there. Put them in the box upside down when dry and use them as is when ready. @winemaker81's method, thus tried and true.

2 I often split batches into a 3 gallon carboy and bottle 15. Sometimes I do 2-3 and make it an afternoon. Other times I wash bottles one afternoon, spit the batch while they dry, and bottle. either way its 45 minutes till I can quit. I often do a lot because It's just a while longer to do the next step.

This way I also need WAy less bottles on hand. I only have a couple hundred.

Just my thoughts. Slow and steady wins the race!
