If you look at the dimensions doesn't 13 inch diameter at center and 16 inches long seem kind of small? I'm not good at estimating volumes but that doesn't seem right.

Here is what it says
This 6 gallon barrel is 13 1/2 inches diameter in the middle, and 11 1/4 inches diameter on the ends and 16 1/2 inches long. It weighs 21.8 to 22.9 pounds. The wood is 1 to 1 1/4 inch thick.

No, that size would probably be pretty close. I've always figured a cubic foot, contains close to 7 gallons. You look a five gallon bucket and swear that a cubic foot can't possibly hold 7 gallons, but it does.

For simple math lets say it's 12 in dia.
6x6 is 36 x 3.1415 = 113.094 sq. inches
113 x 16 = 1808 cubic inches
12x12x12 = 1728 cubic inches in a cubic foot.

HMMM, if E=MC squared x 5/67~(C)@ $7 gallon/8.3.

Yeah seems right to me. I'll take 2.
