I've got a few vines of Cabernet Sauvignon and a few Merlot in my backyard vineyard. I live in USDA hardiness zone 8b, close to 9a. It will probably freeze again here before spring, but it may not. What should I be doing now to encourage a productive season this year?

Thanks for the advice!

I live in the same climate zone and plan to plant 100 vines this spring. Merlot, Cabernet and Zinfandel, Pinot Noir and Sauv Blanc, 20 each, is what I’m planting. Depending on what thrives will determine my next round of vines. I plan on planting 1-1.5 acres of vines.
