Hi all! Super common question but I have 5 small merlot vines in my backyard that I need to help supplement my winemaking with from other vineyards. I have one of those 6 gallon winemaking kits so trying to figure out how many pounds roughly of Merlot (backyard and outside sourced) i'll need total to continue the process using the kit. Anything helps, thanks!

I always assume it takes about 100 lbs (more or less) of grapes to make a 6 gallon batch. I would ferment it in 10 gallon Brute type trash can, press into my carboy, you will probably have a bit extra. After 3-5 days rack. Then you are ready to let it age a bit.
