I’m new to winemaking and this site and currently on my second batch of wine ever. First go, I bought grape must (Cabernet Sauvignon) from winegrapesdirect.com. Their insulation was superb and the grape must quality was exceptional.

On a whim, I bought a pail from grapesforwine.com, 2020 Pinot Noir and what showed up was a haphazardly packaged bucket of what appears to be already pressed grapes- there is almost zero juice. I pitched my yeast yesterday and there was zero cap today.

As a newbie, what should I expect quality wise when buying must? My first pail seemed legit as there were vibrant grapes and plenty of juice when thawed and it just smelled fresh.

Second pail reminded me of what my grapes looked like after I pressed them and almost no juice.

Anyone else have experience with must purchased from grapesforwine.com?

Thanks!
