One of my best vines developed trunk rot on one half. I had to cut it off with about 20 beautiful clusters on it. I think because I prune later in the winter and don’t do any wound sealing I’m leaving my plants open for infection. I think I’ll prune earlier once the possibility of minus 25 degrees is past and then spray fungicide with a sticker solution on the whole vineyard until it warms up and I start my regular spray program.
what do you do to prevent this? It’s really a heart breaker when it happens.
