A Vintage Lost?

Mike, it will be interesting to see what results from this disaster.
Several years ago, here in Montana we had smoke and ash (from the Lolo Fire 10 miles away) at this time of year for several weeks, and the bottles from that year were labeled, "Smoky Red"! There was a smoky taste as well, noticeable but not too unpleasant, in the first tastings. I'll have to pull out a bottle and try it since that was 2017 (don't you love research!)
My point is, there are some vines that are affected - burned completely or partially as from the pictures in the article. But others will just have had the smoke/ashes affects. Vintners are by nature having to deal with what nature deals them. I guess, as my Dad used to tell me when I'd ask for something, "We'll see...."
