2017 garden close out

Even though it is warm, it is late October and time to close out the garden.

We pulled out the last remaining crops. We did have a nice bucket of jalapeno peppers (about 1/4 bucket) that were HUGE!

We then pulled out everything, turned the soil, then added in a good load of composed grape skins (tomatoes love them) and a shot of lime to raise the PH a bit.

All set for spring!

Here is a shot of the composted grape skin pile. This year's fresh load of skins are on top, but nice, black, composted skins are underneath!
